NinosCorner Productions owner, Nino, grew up in the Mooretown, better known as “Motown,” community in Shreveport, Louisiana.  His coined sound of “musical gumbo,” which refers to him taking all of his musical influences and merging them into his desired sound, is as eclectic and diverse as his home state and extends through many musical genres.

Nino grew up in the era where No Limit and Cash Money Records were the kings of rap; thus, Beats by the Pound and Manny Fresh were always blasting through his stereo.  Death Row Records was at its height, so you can definitely hear the Dr. Dre and Warren G west coast synths in his music.  Three 6 Mafia was huge in the south, so you will hear those deafening snares and melodic crowd chants.  His mother was a huge fan of The Isley Brothers, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Cameo, Tower of Power, Ohio Players, and George Clinton.  He also has two uncles that were trumpet players in college; one at Jackson State University and the other at Texas Southern University.

At the age of 13, Nino moved to Texas and began to immerse himself in music even more than before.  Being from Louisiana, he continued to listen to his native state’s bounce music; however, Texas had a whole different sound that also influenced him.  That sound was Screwed and Chopped music.  Houston artists such as Fat Pat, Hawk, Lil Keke, ESG, Big Mo, Trae, Z-Ro, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, and Mike Jones became staples in his music rotation while Nino was in high school.

After high school, Nino went on to attend college at The University of Texas in Austin.  While in college, he picked up a copy of “MTV Music Generator” to test out the software.  He produced 13 songs using the software and handed it out to a few of his friends to rap over.  Nino received great feedback from a few artist on campus; thus, encouraging him to buy better production equipment and pursue music production more seriously.

After college graduation and a few years of working, Nino moved to Los Angeles, where he currently resides.  He has since beefed up his production equipment.  He currently uses Native Instruments Maschine to produce his beats and mixes & masters each track using the Izotope Suite of plug-ins.

In 2013, Nino started a production company, NinosCorner Productions, and is currently credited with production of over 70 songs on more than 26 individual projects, spanning over 17 artists.
